The 10th edition of the TOGAF standard provides improved guidance and support for organizations that want to adapt existing best practices while leaving room for the integration of new and emerging ideas into their enterprise architecture practices. The essential content has been retained and the structure of the standard has been optimized.
The standard is now divided into two main areas: the «TOGAF Fundamental Content» and the «TOGAF Series Guides». The fundamental content provides the essential framework, while the guides provide best practices for configuring this framework. The "TOGAF Series Guides" are designed to be used by a wide range of organizations - from small to large businesses, government agencies, non-governmental organizations and so on. With an increased focus on practical guidance, the 10th edition provides detailed advice and extensive «how-to» material.
The content of the "TOGAF Fundamental Content" has only been marginally adapted. However, the structures of the standard are now much clearer and simpler.
With TOGAF 10, the certification program has also been slightly adapted. The certificates are essentially equivalent, as the TOGAF standard and examination content have only changed marginally. However, an upgrade examination to TOGAF 10 is offered.
